Investigators believe the shooting occurred near 5th Avenue South and 9th Street South. The man is thought to have fled the scene in his vehicle, striking another car carrying a family before continuing for another half-block and coming to a stop. The family was not injured.
Evidence of gunfire was located both at the initial shooting location and on the man’s vehicle. Police have not made any arrests and continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident. MPD says they were notified Thursday, April 24, that the victim had died at the hospital.
