Man Killed in Shooting Near Lewis Park in Saint Paul

A man is dead after being shot around 10:40 p.m. Monday on the 800 block of Albemarle Street, near Lewis Park in Saint Paul, police confirmed. When police arrived on the original report of shots fired in the area, they found a man who was lying on the ground with a gunshot wound.

Officers and first responders rendered aid to the victim but he was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. According to initial dispatch audio, the suspects fled in a vehicle after shooting, and no one has been arrested as of early Tuesday morning.

Saint Paul police say preliminary information indicates the shooting was not random and anyone with information is asked to call 651-266-5650.

The man’s age nor his identify have been released. It’s the 18th homicide of 2021 in Saint Paul.
