Man Sentenced to Life in Prison for Hennepin County Murder
A Minneapolis man will spend at least 30 years behind bars for his role in a fatal shooting last year.
Tremaine Michael Bucholz, 27, was sentenced Dec. 30 in Hennepin County District Court after being convicted of aiding and abetting first-degree murder and second-degree murder in the Aug. 9, 2023 killing.
Bucholz was acquitted of aiding and abetting first-degree premeditated murder.
According to court documents, Bucholz was involved in the drive-by shooting of a woman near Thomas Avenue North and Oak Park Avenue in Minneapolis. Surveillance footage showed Bucholz firing multiple shots at the victim from a van before fleeing the scene. The victim was struck once in the back and later died at the hospital. Evidence tying Bucholz to the crime included video surveillance, witness identification, and forensic analysis of the vehicle used in the shooting.
Bucholz received a life sentence but will be eligible for parole after serving a minimum of 30 years in prison. He also received credit for 483 days served while awaiting trial.
