1 Dead After 4 Shot Outside Minneapolis Business Monday Afternoon
Minneapolis Police say one person died and three others were injured after a brazen afternoon shooting outside of a Minneapolis business Monday afternoon.
Third precinct officers were dispatched to an alley outside the business on the 800 block of East Franklin Avenue just before 1:30 p.m. Monday. When officers arrived they located a 34-year-old man deceased from an apparent gunshot wound, a 37-year-old man suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound, and a 37-year-old woman suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. Both were transported by ambulance to Hennepin Healthcare.
Police later learned that another man self transported to Hennepin Healthcare with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
Authorities added that at least two buildings were damaged by gunfire in the shooting.
Recurrent crime at the intersection has “historically been driven by narcotics sales,” O’Hara said. “Whenever you have a problem with fentanyl, narcotics, illicit sales, there aren’t legitimate ways to resolve disputes. That tends to create the conditions where something like this can happen.”
The deceased mans name will be released along with the cause of death by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner at a later time.
