Saint Paul Man Accused of Brutal Kidnapping, Assault
A man has been charged with multiple felonies after allegedly kidnapping and assaulting a woman over the course of three days in Saint Paul.
Authorities say the victim was held against her will, repeatedly burned with boiling water, stabbed and was prevented from leaving the suspect’s apartment.
According to court documents, police responded to Regions Hospital on Jan. 29 after the victim was transported by Metro Transit officers. The woman suffered severe burns to her face, arms, and torso, along with a stab wound to her leg. She identified the suspect as Jabari Quentin Junior, 22, who was later arrested.
Investigators say the woman went to Junior’s apartment on Jan. 27. At some point, they argued, leading to Junior allegedly restraining her and shaving her head with electric clippers. He then poured boiling water on her multiple times over the following days, prevented her from leaving, and, at one point, encouraged her to jump off the Wabasha Bridge.
The woman told police that Junior forced her to drink a cleaning solution and cut her with a knife. When she refused to self-inflict injuries, he allegedly did it himself. He later walked her to a bus stop on Jan. 29, called 911, and instructed her to lie about her injuries before fleeing.
Police arrested Junior after contacting him by phone. A search of his apartment revealed cleaned surfaces, an electric razor with hair clippings, and pots matching those used in the assaults. Junior initially denied wrongdoing but later admitted to some of the actions, claiming they were accidental.
The victim also disclosed to police that Junior had previously trafficked her for sex after bringing her from Chicago to Minnesota in Nov. 2024. She said he arranged for multiple men to assault her while collecting payments.
Junior faces charges including kidnapping, first-degree assault, and second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon. Bail has been set at $1 million.
