SCANNER: Minneapolis Shooting Critically Injures One

Late Friday, April 16, 2021, Minneapolis squads were dispatched for a ShotSpotter activation in the area of 24th St. E. & Cedar Ave. S. ShotSpotter had detected four rounds fired from the street in front of a residence. Shortly after, a 911 caller reported there was a victim shot in the street. Before squads arrived, the victim was taken to the hospital in a private vehicle.

Officers located evidence of the shooting near 25th St. E. & 18th Ave. S. The Minneapolis Police Department Crime Lab was requested to process evidence from the scene. Squads were also made aware that the victim from the shooting arrived at a hospital and was said to be in critical condition.

Squads stopped the vehicle that brought the victim to the hospital just outside the entrance. The suspect in the shooting was reported to have fled southbound on 18th Ave S. in a black SUV.

More information was expected to be released by the Minneapolis Police Department at a later time.
