Pedestrian Struck, Seriously Injured in Late-Night Brooklyn Park Crash

A 34-year-old man from St. Cloud was seriously injured late Saturday night after being struck by a driver in Brooklyn Park, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

Authorities say the crash occurred at 11:34 p.m. on northbound Highway 252 at Brookdale Drive.

A 2013 Buick Encore, driven by a 26-year-old from Burnsville, was traveling northbound when Seng Thor, a 34-year-old St. Cloud man, crossed the intersection and was struck. Thor was transported by ambulance with life-threatening injuries .

The driver of the Buick was uninjured in the crash. The State Patrol reports that alcohol was not a factor in the crash.

This marks the third pedestrian crash involving at least serious injuries in the West Metro this weekend. Earlier in the day, a 70-year-old pedestrian in Plymouth was killed after being struck by a driver in a similar incident. And on Friday afternoon, a 65-year-old woman was fatally struck by a driver in Shorewood near Highway 7 & Christmas Lake Rd. Authorities are urging pedestrians and drivers to remain vigilant at intersections.

Brooklyn Park Police and Fire, along with the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Department, assisted at the scene. The investigation remains ongoing.
