Brooklyn Park police say one person is dead and another person seriously injured after a shooting on Brooklyn Boulevard Thursday afternoon.

Three police officers narrowly avoided serious injuries early Saturday morning after an alleged drunk driver struck a parked squad car during a traffic stop.

A Brooklyn Park man has pled guilty to second-degree murder after fatally shooting another man during a family celebration.

A witness reported seeing the vehicle flip and enter the water. Responders found a single vehicle that had exited County Road 81, overturned and submerged in a rain-swollen creek.

A 34-year-old man from St. Cloud was seriously injured late Saturday night after being struck by a driver in Brooklyn Park, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

Police arrested three suspects and recovered four firearms outside the Brooklyn Center Sun Foods, 6350 Brooklyn Blvd., around 8 p.m. Friday after an armed carjacking and ensuing vehicle pursuit. Brooklyn Park police said the victim was pistol-whipped by one of the suspects during a carjacking on the 7600 block of Jolly Ln.

A Brooklyn Park man charged with promoting prostitution has been sentenced in Washington County District County to more than 16 years in prison. James Edward Williams, 42, was sentenced Friday to 201 months in state prison on charges of engaging in sex trafficking and violation of a no-contact order.
