Shooter Charged with Murder After Killing Mother, Injuring Child in Minneapolis Alley
According to a criminal complaint filed in Hennepin County, officers responded to reports of gunfire in an alley near the 2900 block of 18th Avenue South at approximately 9:20 p.m. on May 19, 2024. Upon arrival, officers found a woman fatally shot in the backseat of her vehicle.

Man Sentenced for Eagan Teen's Overdose Death
A 29-year-old Burnsville man has been sentenced to prison after pleading guilty to 3rd-degree murder for providing a lethal dose of fentanyl that killed an Eagan teen in 2021. Jamal Ahmed Adan was sentenced to 60 months in prison on Thursday as part of a plea agreement where prosecutors also agreed to drop a felony drug charge.
Three Charged in 21-year-old Woman's OD Death
Three people have been charged with aiding and abetting 3rd-degree murder, accused of providing a 21-year-old woman with the drugs that caused her death. 23-year-old Haley Ross and 21-year-old Connor Hoeft, both of North Mankato, along with 25-year-old Kueth Ruae, of Mankato, were all formally charged in court earlier this week.

Young Boy Found Dead in Trunk of Car After Traffic Stop in Mound
Authorities have confirmed the body of a young boy was found inside of a vehicle on Friday morning after a traffic stop near Shoreline Drive & Bartlett Avenue in Mound. Orono police, who patrol the city of Mound, said that around 7:10 a.m. Friday, they received a report of a suspicious vehicle. A 911 caller reported seeing a silver car, driving on a rim and with a back window smashed out.
Red Wing Woman Arrested for 2003 Death of Baby Found in Lake Pepin
The Goodhue County Sheriff’s Office and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension have announced an arrest in the 2003 death of a newborn baby boy who was found in Lake Pepin in 2003. The woman—Jennifer Lynn Matter, 50, of Belvidere Township—was recently identified through DNA as the child’s mother.
