Teacher Accused of Soliciting Student in St. Louis County

A teacher in St. Louis County is charged with soliciting a child through electronic communication to engage in sexual conduct as well as engaging in electronic communication describing sexual conduct with a child, both felonies, after allegedly kissing a student and sending multiple explicit text messages.

The student, who was 15 at the time of the offense, told law enforcement officers that she started talking to Ellie Sue Krummi, 24, when Krummi had started a job at the school in November 2022. According to the allegations in the criminal complaint, Krummi was a paraprofessional in one of the victim’s classes and they became friends.

At some point, investigators forensically examined the student’s cell phone, which revealed multiple text messages between her and Krummi, including texts describing a previous incident in which the two were kissing, then asking what should happen next.

Another text message conversation showed the student telling Krummi, “I’m not sure, technically this is really illegal,” to which Krummi responds, “Honestly that’s the least of my worries right now, because we are technically past that moment the first time we made out.”

Krummi was charged via summons and made an initial court appearance on Wednesday, May 24, where a judge determined she could remain out of custody, with no bail and with court-imposed conditions.

A booking photo for Krummi was not available as of Saturday.
