Woman Kidnapped, Carjacked and Robbed in Arden Hills

Ramsey County investigators are searching for a suspect after a woman was reportedly kidnapped and carjacked in Arden Hills on Tuesday morning.

Police say the incident occurred around 7:25 a.m. Sept. 13 on the 3900 block of Northwoods Drive. A 61-year-old woman was approached by an armed man after she parked her car in an underground ramp.

The suspect forced the woman back into her vehicle and held her at gunpoint.

The suspect reportedly ordered the woman to drive to the intersection of Franklin Ave. E. & 27th Ave. S. in Minneapolis where the suspect demanded that she withdraw cash from an ATM at a nearby bank.

After robbing the victim of her cash, the suspect ordered her to drive to a park nearby, where he then fled from the scene.

Police say the woman was not injured during the incident.

The suspect was reported to be a black male in his 40s with a stocky build. At the time, he was wearing a dark baseball cap, a black surgical mask, a dark jacket, a dark long-sleeved shirt and cloth gloves.

Police said they were processing the vehicle for physical evidence and searching for any surveillance video that may exist in the area.

UPDATE — Tuesday, Sept. 20

Police today released surveillance camera images of the man they suspect of carrying out the carjacking and kidnapping. An image of the suspect is above.. The suspect is described as being about 5 feet 6 or 7 inches tall.

UPDATE — Thursday, Sept. 22

Ramsey County authorities confirm a suspect was arrested in relation to this incident.

Raphael Raymond Nunn, 56, of Minneapolis, was tracked down and taken into custody without incident at about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday on the 2600 block of 29th Avenue South in Minneapolis.

Nunn was brought to the Ramsey County Jail, interviewed and booked.

Later, investigators searched Nunn's apartment and found a starter pistol and clothing he is believed to have been wearing when he carjacked and kidnapped the victim.
