A 29-year-old man was arrested after agreeing to pay $200 to have sex with someone he believed was a 17-year-old girl during an undercover sting operation in Blaine.

First responders were called around 5:30 p.m. to the intersection of Upper 55th Street East and Blaine Avenue East after reports that a pedestrian had been hit.

Luke David Tungseth, 37, of Blaine, was charged last week with one count of DWI and one count of carrying a pistol while under the influence.

The Minnesota State Patrol says the collision happened Sept. 21 around 7:20 p.m. at the intersection of southbound Highway 65 and 109th Avenue Northeast.

When officers arrived, they found a 15-year-old male victim suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

According to preliminary information, the teenager was traveling southbound on Sunset Avenue NE on a motorized dirt bike when he collided with a pickup truck that was turning westbound onto 103rd Lane NE from the northbound lane.
