1 Dead, 1 Seriously Injured in Anoka Crash

Authorities are investigating a crash in Anoka Monday night that left one driver dead and another seriously injured.

Anoka police, the Anoka-Champlin Fire Department and Allina EMS were dispatched just after 6:30 p.m. to the 1000 block of North Street after reports of a two-vehicle collision.

According to initial info, an adult male driver was on North Street in a minivan when he collided with an eastbound sedan driven by an adult woman.

The impact left both vehicles with extensive damage and responders attempted life-saving measures on the woman, but she was pronounced dead at the scene. The man was transported to a nearby hospital with serious injuries and his current condition has not been released as of publication.

Investigators remained at the scene for several hours, reconstructing the crash and collecting evidence. Officials haven’t said whether speed, impairment or other factors may have played a role in the collision.

Authorities have not yet released the identities of those involved.
