Woodbury Police Investigating Woman’s Death as Possible Homicide

Several residents inquired about heavy police activity Wednesday in Woodbury and police now tell us they’re investigating a woman’s death.

On Wednesday, Oct. 9, at around 8:36 a.m., Woodbury EMS and officers were called to the 500 block of Woodduck Drive for a “medical emergency,” police say.

When they arrived, responders performed life-saving measures on the victim, Samia Amare Al Ahad, 29, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police tell us they’re actively investigating “all possibilities” of how the woman died and as of late Friday afternoon, formal charges had not been filed.

The case is currently under investigation by Woodbury Public Safety, with assistance from the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension. Police say it was an isolated incident and there is no danger to the public. As of late afternoon Friday, authorities say they cannot release more information but confirmed the incident is under investigation as a possible homicide.

According to Washington County Jail records, a 27-year-old man was arrested around 5:45 p.m. on Oct. 9. Public records show the female victim and the man who was arrested lived at the same address but he was released from jail without charges by Friday afternoon and has not been identified as a suspect.
