Bicyclist Killed in Duluth Crash

 

A 60-year-old bicyclist was killed Wednesday evening after being struck by two vehicles, according to police.

Officers responded to the crash on Mesaba Avenue below West 1st Street at approximately 5 p.m.

Investigators determined the bicyclist was traveling westbound when he entered the crosswalk without checking for oncoming traffic and was struck by two vehicles.

The man was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Authorities have not released his name, pending notification of next of kin.

Police said there were no signs of impairment from either driver involved in the crash.

The investigation remains ongoing.
