Deer Causes ATV Crash in Northern Minnesota; Injured Driver Airlifted
The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office says a man in his 50s was airlifted to a Duluth hospital following an ATV crash in Alango Township on Saturday afternoon.
2 Dead After Airplane Crashes in Woods Near Duluth
Crews were called to the 8300 block of Pequaywan Lake Road, about 25 miles north of Duluth in an unorganized township after the US Air Force received an aircraft beacon alarm. A spotter plane in the area observed possible wreckage on the ground and guided deputies to the location. Upon arrival, deputies found both the pilot and the passenger deceased.
Man Charged in Assault Outside Duluth Casino
Chase Dayton Covington, 20, of Duluth, was seen on video surveillance assaulting a man with a baseball bat on April 9. According to the criminal complaint filed, a man had just left the Fond-du-Luth Casino and was walking down the sidewalk when Covington approached him and asked him for money.
Duluth Man Charged in Copper Cable Theft Spree
A Duluth man faces four felony charges for allegedly cutting copper cables from power poles in Saint Louis County. Aaron Alan Horn, 30, of Duluth had been suspected of numerous copper wire thefts where cables owned by CenturyLink were cut from power lines, causing service issues for customers in the area.
Saint Louis Co. Man Charged with Sexual Assault After Victim Comes Forward
The Saint Louis County Sheriff’s Office says investigators arrested 48-year-old Clint Massie, of Grand Lake Township, on four counts of 2nd-degree criminal sexual conduct on Friday. Massie made a court appearance today and is being held on $300,000 bail.
