Crash on I-94 Leaves 1 Dead, Another Hospitalized

A 60-year-old woman is dead following a two-vehicle crash on eastbound I-94 near Brockton Lane in Dayton early Sunday morning.

Authorities say the crash occurred around 5:26 a.m. after the woman’s 2020 Ford Escape struck a deer and came to a stop in the center lane of the freeway.

Shortly after, a 2016 Mazda CX-5 traveling in the same direction rear-ended the Ford, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

The driver of the Mazda, a 32-year-old man from Becker, was transported to a local hospital for treatment. His condition has not been disclosed. The woman from South Haven was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities are expected to release the identities of those involved late Sunday evening. The Minnesota State Patrol is continuing to investigate the incident.
