Fire in Minneapolis Apartment Leaves 1 Dead
Minneapolis Fire officials say one person is dead after an apartment fire on Monday.
Fire crews responded just after 5 p.m. for reports of smoke in the apartment building on the 2500 block of Golden Valley Road.
Crews arrived and found smoke inside the hallway of the building and a smoldering fire inside a garden-level apartment.
Firefighters quickly deployed hose lines, conducted search efforts and worked to extinguish the fire. During their search, they found an adult male inside the unit who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities have not yet released the victim’s identity or the cause of blaze. They have also not yet said whether foul play is suspected.
This incident marks the second fire-related fatality in Minneapolis so far this year.
