Man Fatally Shot on Green Line Train in Saint Paul

Metro Transit police are investigating after a man was fatally shot aboard a Green Line train in Saint Paul on Friday night.

Officers responded to the area of University Avenue West and Hamline Avenue North around 8:30 p.m. following reports of a shooting.

Preliminary information suggests the shooting occurred on a westbound Green Line train as it approached the Hamline Avenue station.

The victim was transported to a hospital, but later died. Police confirmed no other injuries were reported.

A heavy police presence was visible at the scene, with crime scene tape blocking off the area as officers investigated.

Green Line service in the vicinity was temporarily delayed as police worked to gather evidence and search for a suspect. The victim's identity has not yet been released, and no arrests have been made as of midday Saturday. Anyone with information is asked to contact Metro Transit police.
