When they arrived, officers were directed to a hallway in the apartment where they found an adult male victim suffering from puncture injuries to his torso. He was unconscious and barely breathing when he was located, police said.
Saint Paul Fire medics arrived shortly after and transported the man to Regions Hospital, where he later died from his injuries. Police secured the area and immediately began searching for witnesses and evidence.
According to preliminary reports, the incident stemmed from an altercation between the victim and a suspect, police said. The suspect, who remained at the scene, was detained by police without incident. Authorities are now working to establish a timeline and confirm further details.
The suspect and victim have not been identified as of publication. The Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office will perform an autopsy to confirm the victim’s identity and determine the exact cause of death. It marks Saint Paul’s 25th homicide of 2024.
