2 Sentenced for 2022 Inver Grove Heights Homicide
A man and woman who earlier pleaded guilty to 2nd-degree murder have both now been sentenced to more than 30 years in prison for their roles in a Dakota County homicide.
Fotini Anest West, 26, and Logan David Slack, 25, were ordered to serve 367 months in prison in connection with the September 2022 shooting death of Michael Chang-Beom Lee, 43.
According to the original criminal complaint, officers were called to a residence in Inver Grove Heights after a man called 911 saying “they are trying to get into my house” before the line went silent. Officers arrived and found a pane of glass from a door had been broken and officers made entry into the home. Officers located a male victim in the basement, dead from a single gunshot wound to the back.

Police interviewed witnesses nearby who reported an older, dark, midsize SUV was parked in a cul-de-sac that they hadn’t seen before. The SUV drove off seconds before the officers arrived. Police aired the vehicle description to other officers and shortly after, they located an older, black Toyota SUV driving nearby.
Officers located Slack driving and West in the passenger seat. After finding evidence of the homicide in the vehicle, Slack and West were transported to the Dakota County Jail where interviews were conducted. Slack told officers that he dropped West off at Lee’s home for the purpose of performing an “erotic massage” in exchange for money.
West told Slack that Lee had assaulted her and was refusing to pay. Slack then obtained a revolver before he and West broke into the home, found Lee hiding in a bathroom and shot him in the back with the revolver. West then took the victim’s phone and left the residence.
The SUV that Slack was driving was searched, with a revolver and a cell phone matching the description of the victim’s cell phone located under the front passenger seat.
