VIDEO: Fatal Mounds View Shooting Under Investigation

A shooting in Mounds View left a man dead Wednesday afternoon, with several shots reportedly fired at the initial location and the victim found outside a vehicle about a mile away.

Police were called to the 2500 block of County Rd. I just before 4:30 p.m. on a report of a person shot. While responding, officers learned that the victim was being driven from the scene in a white sedan, according to initial dispatch audio.

Officers caught up to the vehicle at the intersection of County Rd. 10 & Pleasant View Dr. in Spring Lake Park a short time later and found him down on the ground and unresponsive. They immediately began administering CPR to the victim at the scene but he was pronounced deceased. A white sheet remained covering the victim’s body next to the vehicle into the early evening as the investigation continued.

Officers were seen at the residence where the shooting occurred and collected multiple pieces of evidence. No arrests have been made and no official suspect information released, but police said there are multiple leads.
