Woman Found Dead, Man Arrested After Standoff in Red Wing
A man is in custody and a woman has been found dead after a lengthy standoff in Red Wing, authorities said.
The Red Wing Police Department responded to the area of West Avenue and Putnam Street following reports of a suicidal man armed with a handgun.
Officers attempted to negotiate with the man for several hours before he eventually exited the residence and surrendered to law enforcement.
Once inside, officers discovered the body of a woman, according to a statement released by the department. Details about her identity or cause of death have not been disclosed.
