Around 9:30 am on Tuesday, fire crews received a call for smoke filling the inside of Truckin’ America, 4720 Highway 52 North, in Rochester.

First arriving crews noted heavy smoke inside of the business,  and light smoke coming from the roof.

Crews located fire coming from an interior office and had to force the door to gain entry. The flames were quickly knocked down.

Other crews searched the building and roof but did not locate any other active fire. The business was open at the time, and all customers and employees made it out safely.

Crews reported that one room suffered fire and water damage and there was some smoke damage throughout the business.

The spread of the fire was constrained by the fact that the office door was closed.

Rochester Fire reminded everyone that, should you encounter a fire, it is important to close doors behind you as you evacuate, as it can help prevent the spread of the fire.

The Rochester Fire Marshals Division is investigating the cause of the fire.
