A man wanted for a felony level crime was fatally shot in what the BCA says is an officer-involved shooting in Chisholm early Wednesday morning. The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that officers from multiple departments had been searching for a “known suspect” since around 4:45 a.m.

A 26-year-old Minneapolis man has been charged with criminal vehicular homicide in the death of a priest who was struck while riding his bicycle on Oct. 25, 2021 in Rosemount. An arrest warrant for Trejean Derrell Curry was just issued on March 17, 2022, and he made his first court appearance Wednesday, with bail set at $200,000 without conditions. His next court date is April 14 in Hastings.

An Andover man was sentenced Monday to 18 years in prison for killing a 19-year-old outside a Coon Rapids grocery store in November 2020. Vaughn Jarod Coklas, 20, was convicted of 2nd-degree murder for killing Staveonte El Brown and received a sentence of 216 months in prison with credit for 477 days already served.
