BCA, State Patrol Providing Added Patrols, Investigation to Minneapolis PD
The State Patrol and Minnesota BCA are teaming up with Minneapolis police in addressing continued violent crime, adding visible patrols in the city and additional investigative resources. The effort is in response to a significant rise in gun-related crimes, carjackings and other violent crimes, the Department of Public Safety said Wednesday.

The Crow Wing County Sheriff's Office says a man was arrested after a woman was found dead inside a residence on Smith Road in First Assessment, north of Brainerd on Thursday morning.
Man Fatally Shot by Officers in Morrison County, Passenger Injured
A driver was killed and a passenger injured after they were shot by officers during a traffic stop in central Minnesota early Thursday evening. The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension says its agents and crime scene personnel were on scene and investigating the shooting near Bowlus, Minn., in Morrison County.
Eagan Man Accused of Firing Shots Inside Townhome; 9 Guns Seized
A 51-year-old Eagan man has been charged with reckless discharge of a firearm after allegedly firing gunshots inside a townhome last weekend. Randall John Reeverts is facing the felony charge after an incident that started around 8 p.m. Sunday, April 24 at a townhome complex on Blue Jay Way in Eagan. Multiple 911 callers reported hearing gunfire.

A Carver County man and former substitute teacher was sentenced last week to 40 years in prison and 25 years of supervised release for his role in a years-long sextortion scheme and producing child pornography.

A suspect wanted in connection to the fatal shooting of a driver in Maple Grove last weekend has turned himself in to authorities. Maple Grove police confirmed that a 30-year-old man is now being held on probable cause murder for the shooting, which took place Easter Sunday, April 17 shortly before 3 p.m.
