One Dead, Six Others Injured In Minneapolis Shooting
Minneapolis Police say one man was killed and six other people were injured in a shooting on the 2200 block of 16th Ave. S. late Friday night. Police were called to the residence around 10:15 p.m., and upon arriving found a large crowd gathered outside with multiple people shot.
Minneapolis Police Officer Shot While on Duty; 4 Suspects Arrested
In a press release, police say the 7-year veteran was following a vehicle that had fled from officers the day before and matched the description of a vehicle involved in a robbery. The officer was following the vehicle when shots were fired from the suspect’s vehicle towards the officer. The officer was struck by automatic gunfire and suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
12-year-old Boy Killed in Shooting; 14-year-old Arrested
Saint Paul police are investigating the fatal shooting of a 12-year-old boy early this morning on the 200 block of Stinson St. and a 14-year-old boy has been arrested. Officers were called just before 5 a.m. for a juvenile male who had been shot. When officers arrived, they located the 12-year-old who was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
Scuba Diver Dies in St. Louis County Lake
The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office says a 31-year-old Canadian man died Friday morning while scuba diving with another person at Pike Lake. Emergency responders were called to the Pike Lake Public Access in Canosia Township around 10:30 a.m. for a report of a man who had gone underwater.
Man Fatally Shot Early Friday in South Minneapolis
Minneapolis Police say a man died after being shot early Friday morning in south Minneapolis. Officers were called just before 5:30 a.m. to the intersection of Nicollet Ave. and Cecil Newman Lane on a report of a possible overdose. When officers arrived, they found a man in his 30s, unresponsive, and police determined that the man had been shot.
Wrong-Way Driver Dies After Crashing into SUV on I-35E
A drunk driver who was wrong-way on I-35E early Saturday morning near Cliff Rd. in Eagan crashed head-on into a GMC Yukon, causing the closure of the southbound lanes of the interstate for hours. The driver who caused the crash, Nraughli Vang, 28, of South St. Paul, was under the influence of alcohol, the Patrol said. He had life-threatening injury and was taken to Regions Hospital, where he later died.
Driver Charged After Killing Pedestrian, Injuring Another
Investigators say alcohol was a factor in a crash that killed one person and critically injured another Thursday night in Columbia Heights. Emergency crews were called around 10:30 p.m. to a report of a crash near Highway 65 and 39th Ave. NE. in Columbia Heights. The State Patrol says 35-year-old Cody John Jazdzewski, of Minneapolis, drover a 1998 BMW off the roadway and onto the sidewalk, striking two pedestrians before the vehicle came to rest near a tree line.
Husband Arrested After Woman Found Dead Along Roadway
The Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office says deputies have arrested the husband of a woman who was found dead along a roadway in Fort Ripley Township last month. Authorities say a passerby called police on June 25, reporting they thought there may have been a body lying just off the roadway near the intersection of Legend Lane & Killian Road in Fort Ripley Township. Authorities arrived and confirmed the woman was deceased.
Semi Driver Arrested After 20 Kilos of Cocaine Discovered
A Minnesota State Trooper on routine patrol made the bust of a lifetime after finding 20 kilograms of cocaine on a traffic stop last Friday. Criminal charges filed this week say a trooper conducted a traffic stop of a semi-tractor-trailer after they observed the semi cross the fog line on Northbound Highway 169 in Bloomington last Friday.
Burnsville Man Arrested for Murdering Mother, Disposing of Body Parts
A Burnsville man is charged with murder after admitting to killing his mother, dismembering her and disposing body parts in multiple locations. Troy Michael Mitteness, 56, of Burnsville, is charged with 2nd-degree murder in the death of his mother, Sandra Viola Mitteness. The charges come after detectives began investigating reports of mail theft in June, which led authorities to a murder confession.

The State Patrol says one person is dead and two others were injured in a crash in Northfield last Friday morning just before 10:30 a.m. According to the State Patrol, an Audi Q6 driven by a Bloomington man was traveling eastbound on Highway 19 in Northfield and collided with a Honda CR-V heading westbound.

Charging documents filed Monday say that police were involved in a multi-month, ongoing investigation into the sales of counterfeit fentanyl pills by a man identified as Marquis J. Johnson, 27, of Duluth, out of his home in Duluth. During the investigation, law enforcement conducted surveillance and observed multiple quick stops at the address, consistent with drug sales.
