A man is dead after being shot around 10:40 p.m. Monday on the 800 block of Albemarle Street, near Lewis Park in Saint Paul, police confirmed. When police arrived on the original report of shots fired in the area, they found a man who was lying on the ground with a gunshot wound.

On August 16 just before 3 p.m., Emily police, first responders, fire, North Memorial EMS, North Memorial Air Care and Crow Wing County sheriff’s deputies responded to the Ruth Lake Access in Emily for an unconscious 66-year-old male who was pulled from the water.

The man who was shot and killed by an Olivia, Minn., police officer after an altercation in an alley early Sunday morning has been identified by the Minnesota BCA and a shotgun was recovered at the scene, the agency said.

It was initially reported by a passerby who said they found a human leg wrapped in plastic, according to initial scanner dispatches. Minneapolis Police Department spokesperson John Elder confirmed the news in an early afternoon media conference downtown.

A man who is believed to have driven his vehicle into a blockaded section of Uptown Minneapolis during a protest Sunday night was taken into custody by police after being detained by bystanders at the scene. The crash killed a 31-year-old woman who was at the protest and injured another person. The suspect driver is now being held without bail at the Hennepin County Jail.

Two more Minnesotans who authorities accuse of being involved in the deadly riot and breach of the U.S. Capitol were arrested on Friday, June 11, the FBI said. The two men join three other Minnesotans who were previously charged in relation to the events on Jan. 6th in Washington, D.C.

A Staples, Minn., man was sentenced Monday to more than two years in prison for his role in the arson at the Minneapolis Police Department’s 3rd Precinct building in late May 2020. Bryce Michael Williams, 27, earlier pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit arson. As part of his sentencing, he was also ordered to serve two years of supervised release and pay $12 million in restitution.
