SAINT PAUL—Police have confirmed three people are dead and two were injured after a shooting Sunday on the city’s east side. Officers were initially called to the 900 block of Case Ave. E. in the Payne-Phalen neighborhood around 4:30 p.m.

MAPLEWOOD—Firefighters responded to a structure fire in a townhome on the 2800 block of Southlawn Dr. just after 3 p.m. on Saturday afternoon. Crews arrived and encountered heavy fire in one unit of a three-unit townhome building and began working to extinguish the blaze. The fire ultimately affected all three units.

A 33-year-old man has been charged after an alleged burglary Sunday morning led to a 9-hour long standoff at an Eagan home and the deployment of a SWAT team and armored vehicle.

A woman was found dead and a man was taken into custody after fire crews responded to an apartment building on fire on the 2200 block of South Ave. E. just after 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 25. Firefighters extinguished the fire and investigators discovered the woman’s remains inside the apartment.

The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating a motorcycle crash that resulted in the deaths of two people in Newport on Friday evening. The crash was reported to authorities just after 6:15 p.m. According to the State Patrol, a 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling northbound on Highway 61 and taking the exit to I-494 when it veered off the roadway, rolled and came to rest in the grass median.

Saint Paul police confirm a man and woman are dead after an apparent murder-suicide inside a residence on the 2000 block of California Ave. E. around 9:15 p.m. on Tuesday night. Police say a child initially called 911 to report the incident.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after recovering a body from the St. Croix River north of Stillwater on Monday afternoon. Authorities say shortly after 9 a.m., they were notified of an unoccupied fishing boat seen along the Minnesota shoreline near the St. Croix Boom Site.

Deputies with the Wright County Sheriff’s Office fatally shot a man early Sunday morning after he reportedly fled from a residence while armed with a knife in Otsego. According to a media release from the sheriff’s office, deputies were called at 12:52 a.m. to the 12000 block of 72nd Court Northeast in Otsego. A caller had reported that a man was threatening physical harm to his family and himself.

Minneapolis police have confirmed that a teenage male victim was fatally shot at the Nicollet Mall Light Rail platform downtown around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday. Police found the victim with a critical gunshot wound at the platform, and images later shared with MN CRIME showed a white sheet covering the victim’s body.

A 36-year-old Anoka man has been charged after a woman was found fatally shot inside a Brooklyn Center home on Sunday afternoon. Michael Isaac Klinger is accused of 2nd-degree murder, aggravated controlled substance crime and prohibited person in possession of a firearm in the shooting death of Katie Ann Fredrickson, 34.

Police in Rochester say an officer shot a suspect wielding an ax early Saturday morning after a traffic stop on Hwy. 63. The male suspect was believed to have robbed a business while armed with the ax, around 11 p.m. on the 2000 block of Broadway Ave. S.

Gunfire interrupted the normally quiet downtown area of Janesville Tuesday afternoon, leaving one man seriously injured and a vehicle strewn with bullet holes outside the post office on Main Street.

A man believed to have initially fired gunshots in an apartment in Minneapolis on Wednesday night was fatally shot by officers early Thursday after a standoff. As officers were responding to a 911 caller hearing gunfire inside the apartment building at 904 21st. Ave. S. shortly before 9:40 p.m., they heard at least four more.

Two men suspected in a gunfight outside an Apple Valley home earlier this week that left a 49-year-old woman dead have both now been charged. The victim was found in a vehicle, shot 10 times and was the mother of one of the suspects, identified as Billy Joe Pryor, Jr., 25.
