Man Faces 3 Felonies in Lake Elmo Kidnapping, Sexual Assault
A New Auburn man faces multiple felony charges after allegedly holding a Lake Elmo woman against her will while physically and sexually assaulting her for over 24 hours. David Powers, 35, is charged with 1st-degree criminal sexual conduct, kidnapping and domestic assault by strangulation, all felonies.
MSOP Staff Member Assaulted by Client in Moose Lake
Nicolas Aron-Jones was arrested, taken to the Carlton County Jail and booked on suspicion of 2nd- and 4th-degree assault. The 59-year-old male staff member was airlifted to a hospital with injuries, reportedly beaten in the head with a metal object that had been wrapped in a pillowcase.
Man Charged in Brooklyn Center Stabbing Death
A New Hope man is charged with 2nd-degree murder after allegedly stabbing a man in the parking lot of a Brooklyn Center apartment building earlier this week, killing him. Police spoke to the victim’s sister, who said that her child’s father, Demetrius Lamar Harris, 28, had come over to her apartment that evening.
19-year-old Charged After Crashing Tesla, Injuring 4
Ramsey County prosecutors have charged a 19-year-old man with three felony counts of criminal vehicular operation causing substantial bodily harm after he was allegedly speeding down Virginia Street last Sunday, struck a building and another vehicle. The suspect, Dung Dinh Pham, also faces a gross misdemeanor charge of criminal vehicular operation causing bodily harm.
Feds Indict 45 in Minneapolis Gang Crackdown
Federal indictments unsealed today detail a wide-ranging investigation and charges against 45 alleged members of two Minneapolis-based street gangs. The two indictments target members of the “Highs” and the “Bloods” gangs and allege racketeering conspiracy involving murder, attempted murder, robbery, obstruction of justice and drug trafficking.
2 Sentenced for 2022 Inver Grove Heights Homicide
A man and woman who earlier pleaded guilty to 2nd-degree murder have both now been sentenced to more than 30 years in prison for their roles in a Dakota County homicide. Fotini Anest West, 26, and Logan David Slack, 25, were ordered to serve 367 months in prison in connection with the September 2022 shooting death of Michael Chang-Beom Lee, 43.
Man Found Fatally Shot in Northeast Minneapolis
Minneapolis police say a man in his 30s is dead after an apparent shooting near the 700 block of Quincy St. NE. Police were called to the area on Tuesday around 8:40 a.m. on a report of a person not breathing. Officers arrived and found the male victim, deceased from an apparent gunshot wound to the chest.
Inver Grove Heights Officer Dies After Medical Emergency
The Inver Grove Heights Police Department is mourning the loss of one of their own after an officer suffered a medical emergency on Friday, April 28 and died at the hospital on Sunday. According to a Facebook post by the department, Inver Grove Heights police and fire crews responded to the emergency on Friday, along with MHealth paramedics.

Newly released video shows suspects damaging a vehicle in Saint Paul including one wielding a golf club and another with a knife. Jesse Lee Underleiter and Nicholas Todd Spangler were seen around 3:10 p.m. on June 22nd, near Bennett’s Chop and Railhouse at 1305 Seventh Street West after a criminal damage to property report. The two men were observed damaging a vehicle in the area.

According to a criminal complaint filed earlier this week, police were called to a home on the 2400 block of Oakland Ave. in Minneapolis.
Federal Agents Shoot, Kill Suspect in North Minneapolis
Federal agents shot and killed a suspect while attempting to serve an arrest warrant Thursday morning in a north Minneapolis neighborhood, authorities have confirmed. Around 6 a.m., a SWAT team involving FBI agents attempted to execute a high-risk warrant on the 3700 block of Dupont Ave. N., with the suspect initially refusing to exit the home.
CHARGES: Teen Driving Stolen Car Intentionally Struck 70-year-old
The criminal complaint filed in Stearns County Court says that Israel Muyaya Madimba, 16, was at the YMCA in Saint Cloud on April 21 when he found car keys in a locker room. Madimba allegedly took the keys and then stole the vehicle from the parking lot.
Infant Dies After Cannon Falls Apartment Fire; 3 Others Hurt
One of three children who were hospitalized following a Cannon Falls apartment fire has died of her injuries. 10-month-old Seqouyah Kelleymae Johnson died early Friday morning at Hennepin Healthcare in Minneapolis, according to a media release from the medical examiner’s office. The cause of her death was listed as smoke inhalation.
Man Charged in Assault Outside Duluth Casino
Chase Dayton Covington, 20, of Duluth, was seen on video surveillance assaulting a man with a baseball bat on April 9. According to the criminal complaint filed, a man had just left the Fond-du-Luth Casino and was walking down the sidewalk when Covington approached him and asked him for money.
2 Dead in Early-Morning Saint Paul Shooting
Police were called just before 5:45 a.m., to an apartment on the 1400 block of Minnehaha Ave. E. on a report of a person shot. An adult female victim with an apparent gunshot wound was found inside an apartment. She was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Three Officers Shot, One Fatally, in Cyrus
The Pope County Sheriff’s Office says two deputies and a Starbuck police officer were shot while on a domestic call in Cyrus around 7:30 p.m. Saturday evening. According to family members and additional information, one of the deputies who was shot has died of his injuries. Radio dispatches indicated that the deputy was being transported to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office late Saturday night.
Man Dies in High-Speed Crash on I-35 in Lakeville
The State Patrol says just before 1:30 a.m., a 2022 Lincoln Aviator was traveling southbound on Interstate 35 towards 210th Street West when the driver struck a 2020 Toyota Corolla from behind. The driver of the Aviator didn’t stop at the scene of the crash and sped southbound, where it crashed into a semi-trailer at a high rate of speed.
Man Dies After Dog Attack in Brooklyn Center
Police say they responded to a residence on the 5700 block of Halifax Avenue North where they found four dogs attacking 22-year-old Dezmond Ray Thomas Trawick in the backyard. Police say they deployed a “less-lethal” round which struck at least one of the dogs, resulting in all of the dogs returning to the residence.
18-year-old Claims Self-Defense in Minneapolis Fatal Shooting
An 18-year-old faces a murder charge after allegedly shooting a man in the chest during an argument at a residence in Minneapolis earlier this month. Jackson Gregory Robertson, 18, faces one charge of 2nd-degree murder and one charge of carrying a pistol without a permit. Court documents do not list an address for Robertson. According to those documents, Robertson says the shooting was in self-defense.
Woman Charged in Drunken Crash With Child in Car
A Brooklyn Center woman is facing six charges after allegedly driving drunk with a revoked license and crashing while her 7-year-old daughter was a passenger in the car.
