This was the fastest Minnesota has reached 300 deaths since 2007. The Ramsey County Attorney's Office has charged a 22-year-old woman in the Saint Paul stabbing death of Eric T. Brown on Friday night. Kayla Janea Pope faces a charge of second-degree murder without intent and faces up to 40 years in prison. According to the criminal complaint, officers arrived at the intersection of Seventh St. E & White Bear Ave. shortly after 9 p.m. and found Brown with a stab wound near his left shoulder blade. He was reportedly unconscious and had no pulse after collapsing on the sidewalk.

A man in his 20s is dead after being found lying in the street with a stab wound Friday night near the intersection of 7th St. E. & White Bear Ave. on Saint Paul’s east side. Officers found the man shortly after 9 p.m. and he was transported to the hospital with critical injuries that proved to be fatal. He was pronounced dead sometime overnight.

Minneapolis police are investigating the fatal shooting of a 12-year-old boy near the intersection of Aldrich Ave. N. & 8th Ave. N. late Wednesday afternoon. Police arrived and found the boy with a gunshot wound to the chest, initial EMS dispatches detail, and he was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.

Multiple serious injuries were reported after a suspect driving a stolen vehicle fled from Ramsey County deputies before crashing into a yard late Friday afternoon. Deputies initiated a pursuit on Larpenteur Ave. near White Bear Ave. after learning the vehicle was previously stolen. The driver sped off while deputies pursued and followed the vehicle from a distance.

Detectives are investigating a fourth scene after officers found a woman dead in her apartment on the 300 block of Ramsey Street in addition to three others killed over the weekend in unrelated shootings. Officers were called to the scene around 11:30 on Monday morning, but further details are limited.

White Bear Lake police detectives are investigating after a man was shot and critical injured late Monday night. Police and firefighters were called to the 3500 block of Emerald Drive just before midnight on a report of a gunshot victim. Officers arrived and determined that the victim was shot multiple times and was bleeding heavily.

A man is dead after being shot around 10:40 p.m. Monday on the 800 block of Albemarle Street, near Lewis Park in Saint Paul, police confirmed. When police arrived on the original report of shots fired in the area, they found a man who was lying on the ground with a gunshot wound.

Crews arrived to a large warehouse building located at 1415 Selby Ave. and reported heavy smoke and fire from the entire building. Crews worked to protect nearby exposures from the blaze that burned for hours, sending black smoke into the sky, visible for miles around the metro area.

An Illinois man was sentenced Tuesday to more than eight years in prison and three years of supervised release for setting fire to a cell phone store in Minneapolis in the aftermath of the killing of George Floyd.

A rollover crash overnight in Bloomington on southbound Highway 169 at Old Shakopee Rd sent at least one victim to the hospital with injuries. Emergency crews had been called for the rollover just after 3 a.m. When crews arrived, they found the vehicle on fire.

Eric Reinbold, 44, was seen on a law enforcement trail camera near his parents’ property in Red Lake County late Tuesday night. The camera had been set up in a wooded area off of County Road 1, in the area that had been searched by authorities in the days after his disappearance.

An inmate that was serving time at the Stillwater Correctional Institution was sentenced to 10 years in prison after he sexually assaulted a prison guard in June of 2019. Inmate Mal Pauliet Tharjiath, 28, was convicted of 4th-degree criminal sexual conduct and 4th-degree assault.
