Hennepin Co. Sheriff Hospitalized After Rollover Crash, Suspected DUI
Hennepin County Sheriff Dave Hutchinson, 41, was involved in a single-car crash early this morning near Alexandria, according to a media release. It is being investigated by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and the Minnesota State Patrol as a DUI.
"I made the inexcusable decision to drive after drinking alcohol and I am deeply sorry. As the Chief Law Enforcement Officer in Hennepin County, I am held to a higher standard. I regret the choice I made and apologize to the citizens I serve, the staff I work with, and the friends and family who support me," Hutchinson said in a written statement.
Officers and Slain Suspect Identified in Mounds View Police Shooting
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner has identified the man shot by officers last Sunday evening in Mounds View as Noah Douglas Kelley, 21, from Saint Paul. Kelley died at Hennepin Healthcare due to multiple gunshot wounds.
The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension said two officers discharged their weapons at Kelley after responding for a report of shots fired and an armed robbery near 2537 County Rd I.

Willernie Man Arrested After SWAT Standoff Sunday Morning
A 44-year-old man from Willernie faces two felony charges after an incident on Sunday morning resulting in a SWAT team callout. According to the criminal complaint, around 1:42 a.m., officers were dispatched to a residence on Wildwood Road in Willernie and a caller reported that Travis Terry Emerfoll was threatening other people inside the home with a knife. Deputies observed Emerfoll holding a large silver knife, he refused to comply with officers and barricaded himself inside the house, documents say.
Serious Crash Requires Dive Team Callout in Arden Hills
Emergency crews in Arden Hills responded to a two-car crash near the intersection of Highway 96 and Hamline Ave. N. around 8:45 p.m. Tuesday. Deputies arrived and found one vehicle with heavy damage, and a person apparently ejected from the vehicle, with CPR being performed by a bystander. A second injured person was also located, but the extent of their injuries is unknown.

A Farmington man has been charged with three counts of 2nd-degree murder, accused of shooting his brother and father in the head, then bludgeoning his mother to death inside a home earlier this week.

Shootout Inside Saint Paul Bar Kills One Bystander, Injures at Least 14
A shootout between multiple people inside a popular bar in the West Seventh neighborhood of Saint Paul left a young woman dead and at least 14 others injured early Sunday, Oct. 10. Initial scanner dispatches of EMS, firefighters and police responding to the area around 12:15 a.m. described a chaotic scene just west of downtown Saint Paul. Man Charged With Stabbing Girlfriend, Dumping Body in Bloomington Dumpster
Police have identified the man suspected of stabbing his girlfriend in Bloomington earlier this week, putting her body in a dumpster and leading officers on a pursuit into south Minneapolis with their child in the vehicle.
Ahmed Abdilahi, 23, is currently being held at the Hennepin County Jail and on Wednesday was formally charged with intentional 2nd-degree murder and one count of fleeing a peace officer.
Abdilahi is scheduled to make his first appearance Thursday.
Man Apprehended After Firing Shots at Officers During Hours-long Standoff South of Hastings
The suspect apprehended overnight after an armed standoff that lasted several hours south of Hastings is identified in booking records as Brian Lusk, 38, being held on suspicion of 2nd-degree assault and 1st-degree damage to property.
North Minneapolis Shooting Leaves One Dead
Police were called just before 8:30 to a ShotSpotter activation in the 500 block of 49th Avenue North. While units were en route, they were notified of a crash on I 94 at 49th Avenue North. There, police found a vehicle that had crashed down onto I 94 from 49th Avenue North. The man inside had at least one gunshot wound. Officers initiated CPR before paramedics pronounced the man deceased.

The Minnesota Department of Public Safety announced that Minnesota had reached 300 traffic fatalities since the beginning of the year. This was the fastest Minnesota has reached 300 deaths since 2007. Woman Charged After 23-year-old Man Fatally Stabbed in Saint Paul
The Ramsey County Attorney's Office has charged a 22-year-old woman in the Saint Paul stabbing death of Eric T. Brown on Friday night. Kayla Janea Pope faces a charge of second-degree murder without intent and faces up to 40 years in prison. According to the criminal complaint, officers arrived at the intersection of Seventh St. E & White Bear Ave. shortly after 9 p.m. and found Brown with a stab wound near his left shoulder blade. He was reportedly unconscious and had no pulse after collapsing on the sidewalk.
Man Fatally Stabbed in Saint Paul Friday Night
A man in his 20s is dead after being found lying in the street with a stab wound Friday night near the intersection of 7th St. E. & White Bear Ave. on Saint Paul’s east side. Officers found the man shortly after 9 p.m. and he was transported to the hospital with critical injuries that proved to be fatal. He was pronounced dead sometime overnight.
2 Dead After Driver Crashes While Fleeing Police
Eden Prairie Police attempted to stop the vehicle, but the original reason for the stop is unknown at this time. The vehicle traveled northbound before the officer lost sight of the vehicle on Baker Rd near I-494 in Minnetonka but found the vehicle crashed just past I-494.

Detectives are investigating a fourth scene after officers found a woman dead in her apartment on the 300 block of Ramsey Street in addition to three others killed over the weekend in unrelated shootings. Officers were called to the scene around 11:30 on Monday morning, but further details are limited.
